Hi Ben,
Sorry I haven't written sooner. Jan and I had to leave the Reunion on
Thursday morning due to a previous engagement that we couldn't get out of. We
missed the meetings and the Banquet and the General's speech. I guess that was
the best part from what I have been reading.
I have been to all of the Reunions since I first found out they were being
held in 1979. Just pray that I can continue this streak.
We would like to add our names to the list of people who praised Helen and
Hal for the wonderful job they did in planning one of the best ever Reunions we
have ever attended.
Planning on next year already.

Hello Mr Barrett
All these years that have gone by.
Dad never wanted to talk about the war.
I am learning so much from this web-sight and passing the information on to
his grandson's and daughters.
Thank you so much,

We feel very fortunate. We have been having many cruise ships visit
Astoria the past 2 years. Our next visit from a cruise ship will be
Sunday, Oct 9.
On that ship, Alice Goodman will be coming with her bridge group, so we
will be able to have a good visit!! The welcome mat is out--Joe Miller

Please
include me on your mailing list.
This address is for Eric E. Anderson, a member of D Company. While at the reunion in August I
videotaped the General’s speech and I have transferred it to an audio CD. If anyone would like a copy I will mail
it to them on receipt of AAA$3 – to buy an envelope and stamps to mail it. It is
not for sale or anything, just covering the mailing costs. I do not want to get into the problem of
making dvds of the speech,
however if you would like a copy I will mail you one if you send me your snailmail address. I am Eric’s son and I attended the
reunion with him this year.

We will try
to add it to oral histories on the web site.-Ben

Ben,
Last mail call you asked for some
emails, so here goes. I have been looking at the many photographs my Dad
had taken while in the 517th. On his overseas cap is a patch with a blue
background and a parachute. Attached is a picture was taken of my Dad in
1943 or 44. In other pictures I have seen the patch now has a glider on it
with a parachute over the glider. What year did the Airborne forces change
the patch? Does anyone know why they changed the patch?

I am the grandson of Murray Torgeson, part of the 517th 'H'
company. I was wondering if you had any info on him. He served from
May '44 - Aug 45. I believe he was a Corporal. He was wounded
on Dec 26 1944 in the battle of Soy-Hotten and received a Purple Heart.
Any info (pics) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Shawn
