Hello,
This is rough. I just received notice about
the sudden death of a good friend.
Dorothy Gleisberg, friend of recently deceased
Andrew Lubic "H" Co., passed away Wednesday morning.
Dorothy and Andrew were among our friends at reunions.
Dorothy and daughter Cathy were at the Savannah reunion.
Dorothy was the first to come up with the idea of a web
site and at the Palm Springs reunion tried to get people to show interest by
signing a paper. We got three signatures, Dorothy, Lud Gibbons and myself. Dorothy made the first entry in our
guestbook.

Comments: Andrew
and I are very proud to sign this guestbook of the 517th. When Ben Barrett and I
talked about a website for the 517th at the last Palm Springs reunion, it was a
far-off dream that someone would undertake the responsibility. Congratulations
are in order for Ben and his son, Bob, for making this dream a reality. It is a
beautiful site, honoring all the history and tradition of a fine group of men
who served their country so proudly. To Ben Barrett, son Bob Barrett, and all
members of a proud unit, AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY !!!!! Dorothy Gleisberg

Ben, I, too want a copy of the CD
and DVD from Lance Anderson. How do I get his email address so that I can
order from him.
Thanks for putting my story on the
website that General Seitz sent to you. At the reunion he requested that I
mail him a copy of it because he was not aware of what happened to Guichi, Flynn
and me, of how we were captured and then escaped. Mryle Traver, F co.

Hello Ben and All,
My name is Jeff Wilhoit. I am the son of Sarg. Bill
Wilhoit, a communicator in "A" co. hdqs.
Recently a friend of mine at work received an
unexpected "Silver Star" for his service in Vietnam on Mar. 21, '68. He had
know idea what this was about except that was the day his best friend was
killed.
The commendation, written in July '68, said he carried
two troopers to safety before he was wounded. The letter was signed by Gen.
Melvin Zais.
Let's hear for it Dwight Lane of the 101st

Hi
Ben:
I too would like to
know where to send the money to Lance Anderson for the DVD of General Seitz's
speech. I do not have Lance's e-mail to ask him.
Lance please let us
know how much and where to send the money.
Thank
you,
