News Clippings and artifact from Camp Mackall

January 1944

The following are news clippings from WW2 about the 517th.  My mother had saved these in her scrapbook and I thought you might enjoy them.

The photo below is an item I found in my father's trunk.  The knife is only about 3-1/2 inches in length.  The scabbard has a set of paratrooper wings on the front of it.  I assume my Dad must have purchased this while in paratrooper training.  Maybe other men remember this item?   The knife handle has the words "CUB HUNTER" written on it.
