Dear Claire and Helen: Congratulations on
another outstanding Thunderbolt! We don't know how you do it (and so
quickly with all else you had going on in July and August), but you seem
to outdo your superb work with each new edition -- each one is more
outstanding than the excellent one before it. Loved the individual
pictures of the men in this issue. Thank you very much for your
dedication, artistry and excellent editing. You should be very proud
of your marvelous job. Pat Seitz and Alan Greer

Hi Ben -
I've enjoyed the photos you posted of your "Grand Tour of Europe." Thank you for sharing them. I was flipping through the television channels last night and landed on C-Span and a program entitled "World War II Remembered" that dealt with the 65th anniversary of D-Day. I stayed on it for a while as the moderator asked questions. I was surprised when they worked their way through the distinguished panel and returned to the first vet and asked a question. That individual was LTG Seitz. Needless to say, I stayed tuned for the next hour. Below is a link to the Eisenhower Library website wherein the program is described. While the website does detail some of the dates/times when the program showed, it doesn't refer to any upcoming broadcasts. http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/index.php?main_page=product_video_info&products_id=286960-1 I'm glad you're back, I've been missing Mail Call. Be well, mark Fred Zeades
Hello, I hope that the
trip back was ok!! I was really happy to meet you personally, and share a
drink at Roland’s home. Yesterday in
Cannes, we had a fantastic day for the commemoration and Parade. I am
certain that you will get the pictures and story quickly!!!
I was wondering
if you could had info@zeades.com to the
mailcall list?! Fred Paul Abbene
Greetings 517th,
As the photos from the trip are filtering in and
it looks like it was a very special journey. Welcome Home ...
Again.
Here's something for the travellers to consider.
While the trip is still fresh in your minds and the dust is still on your
shoes I thought it might be interesting if you could share your
experiences.
I think your recollections would be very a
interesting addition to the website. I'm sure the 517th and it's
families would love to read about your travels, your thoughts,
feelings, and instincts... the sights and
sounds.
Personally, I'm interested to know what a
soldier might reflect upon as he walks through the battlefields and towns
that were once hostile now peaceful and free because of the efforts and
sacriifices of himself and those like him.
Not to leave anyone out ... if the sons and
daughters, and grand-children of Buzzards have something they would like
to write I'm sure we would enjoy reading about your
experiences.
Looking forwards to
it.
Many Grins, Paul Abbene
