The explosive weapon that was like a  putting substance was called Composition C, and many times more powerful than dynamite.

Hello 517th,
I watched with dismay a television report on ABC that detailed the story of four wounded military veterans that returned from fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.   Some of you may have saw the program.   These four men suffered loss of limbs and livelihoods.   One of the men was now living in his car waiting for the government to approve his disability.  Some of the men had not been awarded their Purple Hearts.   All in all it was quite a disgrace for a modern 21st Century fighting organization.   A general in the pentagon who was interviewed by the reporter stated that he would see that the problems were taken care of.   This made me sad and then I realized that I wasn't doing anything to help these men return to a productive life in the United States either.   So, I began to search and I found a non-profit organization that has been formed to aid these returning wounded warriors with the help from U.S. citizens and companies.    I only ask that you check it out - - maybe a small donation would be helpful.    It is located at:   www.woundedwarriors.org
I have also spread the word to my own reunion organization, the USS U.S. Grant Forum, a 500+ membership.   This web site also has links to other relief organizations.
Thanks for listening,
Michael N. Arterburn
