Ben, I'm back in the net after a very informative and enjoyable trip to
Southern France and Belgium.  During the ten days I visited  most of
the 517th battle sites and can report that the memories and respect for
the Combat Team continues postive and strong.  Dick Seitz

Dear friends,

Here are some photos which represent the same places now and sixty years ago.
If some of you are interested to see now the same places that they met during the war, I would be happy to take some photos and sending you after. But I can do only in this part of France where I live: around Nice, L'Escarene, Col de Braus, Sospel, for example.

Read you son sincerely

It was with considerable interest that I read Kathy's email in July 23 MAIL CALL.  She was searching for a Blue Book article for a Stewart Steele.  I had lost contact with Steele but in 1997 I was in Rapid City S.D. in a motel or hotel and got myself a telephone directory to look up Stewart G. Steele's phone number, knowing from the past that he was from Rapid City.  I talked with him at length at that time.  I presume he is still in Rapid City.  I looked in the 2004 517 roster and did not find him listed.  With my ARMD, my eyes are not the best and I could have missed him.  In time, I will see if I can get his phone # and check.  Hopefully, some one else will read this and know it.

Mon cher Ben, what a man!  Mind, Body and Soul into the 517th interests.  Endless depths of info or means to info! How can we thank you. Walt

All I did was  gave Walter a phone number - Ben

Hi Ben,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I don't actually know Stewart Steele - I just saw his letter in the Reminisce Extra magazine that I had mentioned and wanted to help out a Vet (a.k.a. Hero).  I am printing out your emails and one I received from WalterWS@aol.com to mail to Stewart.

As his address was published in the magazine, I feel that it is okay to give it to you if you would like to contact him.  Stewart Steele, 4900 Everest Rd., Rapid City SD 57702.

Thanks again,
Kathy

Kudos to Kathy-   " Wanted to help out a Vet" -Ben

Hal,

I just confirmed my flights and hotel for the 517th reunion.  Unfortunately, I can only get away from work for a couple of days.  I will arrive Thursday morning, August 18th, and should be there in time for the Men's Luncheon and business meeting.  I stay through Friday night, including attending the Banquet Friday night.  I'll have the London Broil if I still have a choice.

I look forward to meeting you (again).

Bob Barrett

His death is very  hard for me to deal with, so I  would appreciate if would  you take his name from "the roster" that is sent to  other members you contact through the E MAIL .Please see that this message  is not sent anymore. You are doing a most commendable job.  Let me know if you receive this message  Sincerely yours, Betty Coleman.
