FREE WWII video to honor wwii veterans. Ever since I attended the National WWII Memorial dedication in 2004, and met so many WWII veterans, I have been collecting stories from WWII veterans. During this time I have also made a video in honor of all who served during WWII. The video showcases different WWII Museums and Memorials and is set to some big band and WWII era songs. The hopes of this video are not only to thank each of you, but to also present a couple of places you may not have had the chance to visit yet, while listening to some wonderful music. This video is FREE, you pay nothing, however I would appreciate any written stories or copied pictures anyone would like to share. Whether it is one page or 300 pages, anything at all would be wonderful, and I will pay for the postage.

I just want to say, thank you to the vets of the 517th, for my freedom. I am a gulf war era vet and paid-up-for-life member of the American Legion. I am also a ww2 reenactor and changing from a 101st a/b to a 517th impression, because I feel that the unit dosen't get the recognition it deserves. Thank you again!

Does anyone have any information (ie war stories, army stories, etc.) about my father, Walter G. Irwin? As with most soldiers, we heard very little if anything from him about the war. He passed away years ago, in 1984 and I don't know anyone now who can tell me. Many thanks for anything you can relay to me. Karen Irwin Hook

Name: Robert A. McKee From: E-mail: rmckee3@cox.net |
My Father Robert Allen McKee served with the 517th. I was hoping to gain more information about him and the life he lived with the men of the 517th during world war II. My Father did not talk much about the war, but when he did the stories captivated my whole group of friends. I was hoping to get additional stories now that my Father has passed on.

Looking for anyone who served with my Uncle Carroll Eckert - I believe he was one of 26 or 28 men in the "Shock Troop" - a paratrooper 517th G Company. I believe he parachuted into Southern France on August 15th and was wounded in battle on September 9th.
