My father, Reynold B. Laeben was in the 517th, H company. I am happy to say I found pictures of him on this site. At the link, "Odas Sweet and Friends, H company Part 2", my father is in the fourth row of photos, left side, in front of the domed building, and he is also in the picture to the left of the horse statue. Thank you Rick Sweet for posting these!

My Dad Lawrence Constantine died on 02/24/11 and he requested we inform the 517th. His obit is in the Union Leader of Manchester Nh. He will be burried at Arlington on May 10 at 3pm. You all meant a great deal to him. Thank You, Lorene

My Step-Father Lawrence Constantine passed away on February 24, 2011. He was in the 517th in the medical detachment. If anyone knew him back then could share a story or two, his family would appreciate it. Thanks!

My uncle was Pvt. Lloyd Johansen, 2nd Bat., Co. F, 517th PIR. He was KIA on Jan. 26, 1945 in St. Vith. I have a couple of photos of him and some buddies I would like to submit to this organization. Also, if anyone in this group remembers him or has any information on him in the form of stories or photos, I would appreciate you contacting me.

I was going through letter's of my grandfather Byron Carroll tec 5, D-Battery 460th and came across a transfer to H.Q. 460th in March of 1945. His job was an Orderly or Aid to staff. If someone from H.Q. know's him, I would like to get in contact with you. Byron was the OLD GUY he was in his mid 30's at that time. Raymond E. Markley was my father. I was re-reading his WWII journals today and decided to see what i could find out about his unit, the 517th. I am proud that he is my father and proud that he fought with men as honorable as those of the 517th airborne.

My father, David Harrison Armstrong was in the 517th during WWII. I have just been through boxes of the paratroopers activities in August 1944, etc. My father died in 1964 at the very early age of 52. He was a Lt. Colonel at end of war.

My uncle, Johnnie Bland ( Co F, 517 PIR ) passed away today (Tuesday, Jan 11, 2011) He had lived in Georgia. if you knew him or had any stories to share, I would love to hear from you.I used to love to hear him talk about the outfit and his recollections of WWII. He had a high regard for the officers and men of the 517th.
