What a wonderful web site! Thanks to all who made it possible for me to learn more about my uncle, who I never had the pleasure of knowing. His name was Pvt. Al D. Baggett, 2 BN HQ. He was KIA Sept of 1944. From Louisiana. He was at LSU on a football scholarship when he enlisted. That sums up almost everything I know about him. If you knew Al, I'd be most grateful to hear your remembrances of him and of your service together. Thank you.

My uncle Sgt. Robert E. Needham recently passed away and was in the 517th B Co. Parachute Combat Team. I am in possesion of a few items that belonged to him, a few photos (w/ names on the back), a booklet about the 517th w/ some signatures). I am looking for the names of his buddies as I look through this sight. ie: Melvin Biddle of Anderson, In. is one of the signatures in the book. And yes, it was Co. B.
